the Preliminary card of a thermal stream gretsii
M.D.Fitikas and N. P.Kolios
The Summary. In this work all new data and a preliminary card of a thermal stream of Greece are presented. The card shows, that low values of a thermal stream concentrate in Ionian sea and the western Greece, and also in a southern part of island Crete. On the contrary, high values of a thermal stream are observed:) along an active volcanic arch, in an average part of Aegean sea (round island Chios) and along the North Egejsky trench. Other areas where rather high values of a thermal stream are found out, is the central and east Macedonia, area to the northeast from the central Greece and a southern board of the Fessalijsky hollow. In the end of article some aspects of interpretation of geothermal anomalies are discussed.
The Problem of this article consists in giving the greatest possible number of the available data necessary for construction of a schematic card of a thermal stream of Greece. All work was carried out within the limits of the project of the researches, concerning resources of geothermal energy in Greece. It is known, that such researches help to allocate areas of positive anomalies of a thermal stream and, hence, area where sources of geothermal energy can be found out. The investigated area includes continental and island Greece, and also partially areas of the Ionichesky and Egejsky seas. All area is limited to geographical co-ordinates 33°50 and #8242;-41°30 and #8242; with. sh. And 19°54 and #8242;-25°07 and #8242; century d.
In this article we used already published data of other authors on the sea areas and data which are based on our measurements and calculations and concern mainly continental area and some sites of the sea. The density of measurements averages one measurement on 10 000 км2.
